Both the Hollywood Museum and the Los Angeles City Council recently honored Emmy Award-winning actress Lindsay Wagner at an event that also marked the official unveiling of the new Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman exhibit that is now on display at the Museum. With that in mind, we thought we’d mark that occasion by playing highlights of Lindsay’s appearance on TV Confidential from June 2015. Among other topics, we asked Lindsay which episode of The Bionic Woman earned her the Emmy Award for Best Dramatic Actress in 1976. We’ll replay that conversation in our second hour.
This week’s program will also include an encore presentation of our November 2012 interview with Robert Colbert, the actor known around the world as Doug Phillips on The Time Tunnel and, among fans of TV Westerns and the old Warner Bros. Television shows, Brent Maverick on Maverick. Bob shared a few memories of these and other highlights from his fifty-year screen career—a career that began with his stirring performance of a dramatic poem in 1956. We’ll replay our conversation with Robert Colbert in our second hour.
Also this week: We’ll replay our June 2016 conversation with actor, author, and motivational speaker Jimmy Weldon. While most of you probably know Jimmy as the voice of Yakky Doodle on the Yogi Bear show in the 1960s, he also hosted The Webster Webfoot Show, one of the very first local children’s TV shows, which originated in Dallas. One of our country’s most inspirational speakers, Jimmy gives many talks—including one on the American flag that he performs several times a year—while his book, Go Get ’em Tiger, is a part autobiographical, part motivational book that shows that the real definition of success is becoming the person you want to be and doing what you really want to do. We’ll replay our conversation with Jimmy Weldon in our first hour.
