via It’s Alive Media: Attention, Kovacs Fans on the East Coast: May 2019 will bring three more events to celebrate Ernie’s centennial birthday, including a program honoring Ernie and Edie at the Library of Congress on Friday 5/10 and Saturday 5/11, and an Ernie Kovacs tribute at the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission on Wednesday 5/22

Announced today, Tuesday 4/16 (Edie Adams’ birthday) — May 2019 will be a big month for the Ernie Kovacs centennial (and for Edie Adams fans, too) as the estates for Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams have confirmed the following three events:

Library of Congress at the Packard Campus Theatre in Culpepper, VA
As part of the Library of Congress’ yearlong initiative exploring America’s Changemakers, the Packard Campus Theater presents an evening of highlights from the career of comic genius and television pioneer Ernie Kovacs (1919-1962). Clip program of Kovacs commemorating the 100th birthday of Television’s Original Genius will be hosted by Kovacs archivist Ben Model and Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams estate director Josh Mills.
The Library will present this program of memorable moments from Edie Adams’ successful and inventive variety series, Here’s Edie (ABC, 1962-64), along with other highlights from her career.  Hosted by Josh Mills (Edie’s son, and the directors of the estates of Edie Adams and Ernie Kovacs) and Ben Model, archivist for the Kovacs/Adams collection.
Wed. May 22 (10:30am) – A Special Tribute to Ernie Kovacs for his Centennial in his hometown of Trenton, NJ
A special tribute commemorating The Ernie Kovacs Centennial 1919-2019 presented by the New Jersey Dept. of State, NJ Film & Television Commission, the City of Trenton and It’s Alive! Media. Featuring a clip program of Kovacs groundbreaking work with Secretary of State Tahesha Way, Mayor W. Reed Gusciora and the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission. This event is free to the public.
